Full job description

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Carer to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to residents in a professional and compassionate manner.

The ideal candidate will lead by example, supporting the care team and ensuring that every resident’s physical, emotional and social needs are met with warmth and respect.

This is an internal opportunity for existing staff who are ready to step into a leadership role and make a direct impact on daily care standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily activities including washing, dressing and eating.
  • Support mobility, transferring and positioning safely.
  • Administer and record medication according to guidelines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior carers, ensuring best practice in care delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and families.
  • Promote a positive, safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and daily care records.
  • Uphold infection control and health and safety standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a care role, ideally within a residential or nursing setting.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
  • Understanding of person-centred and outcome-focused care.
  • Competent in medication administration and record-keeping.
  • Ability to lead, train and motivate care teams.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
